When I try to open a file I receive the error "Could not open file "FILE NAME" [6]"

You will receive this error if you have the "File Format" textbox on the Open dialog box set incorrectly. Set File Format to either "Auto" or the type of file you are attempting to open. You can find more information regarding the Open window, at the following link:
