This is most likely a problem with the "Microsoft HTML Help" files that MaxIm DL uses for its own help files. If the Microsoft HTML Help files are damaged/corrupted/missing, then it will crash MaxIm DL as well.
To attempt to correct this issue, please try the following:
1.) Click "Start"
2.) Click "Run"
3.) In the "Run" dialog box, enter the following commands, one line at a time, clicking the "Ok" button after each line:
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\hhctrl.ocx
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\itss.dll
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\msxml3.dll
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\mshtml.dll /i
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\jscript.dll
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\ole32.dll
Another possibility is that your hh.dat file is corrupted. The file "hh.dat" is a database file that saves such session information as the window position and favorites for the HTML Help viewer. Please follow these instructions to recreate the hh.dat file.
1.) Click "Start"
2.) Select "Run"
3.) In the "Run" box, type %userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\HTML Help
4.) Click the "OK" button, or hit the "Enter" key
5.) A window should open containing the file "hh.dat". Delete the file "hh.dat"
6.) Open MaxIm DL, and then start the "Help" files under the Help menu. This will recreate the "hh.dat" file
Also, please make sure that your computer is spyware, and virus free, and perform a "Disk Cleanup", to help reduce other possible causes.
