The Photons Wizard helps you determine the gain of your camera. This information about the gain is needed for use with the Poisson noise model when initializing deconvolution. The Wizard explains how to determine this information. Three different techniques are available: enter the value from the camera’s manual, calculate the value based upon full well capacity and bit depth, or calculate the value using statistics gathered from a set of bias and flat-field calibration frames. The latter is often more accurate since some camera manufacturers do not control the camera gain carefully.
